How to play
Baccarat is easy to learn and easy to play. Once the bets are placed, two cards are dealt to the banker (dealer or “house”) and the player. The task of each of them to get as close as possible to 9 points, using a maximum of three cards.
If the sum is 10 or higher, only the second digit of the sum counts as a result. For example. 7+5+2=14, so the final sum of points is 4. A player can bet on three possible outcomes: a player wins (pays 1:1), a banker wins (pays 1:1 minus a 5% commission, for example, a $100 bet will bring the player back $195) or a draw (pays 8:1).
Third card dealing rules
Each baccarat hand is played strictly according to the established rules.
The following rules apply to a player’s hand:
- If the banker or player scores 8 or 9 on the first two cards (the so-called “natural hand”), they win (or a tie is scored if the player and banker have the same number of points), and a new hand begins. A natural 9 beats a natural 8.
- If the sum of the player’s first two card points is 0-5, the player must draw a third card.
- If the sum of the player’s first two card scores is 6 or 7, no cards are dealt to him, and the banker will receive a third card if the sum of his points is between 0 and 5.
